This coral island is located in the northeastern part of the Persian Gulf, 17 km from the mainland of Iran. The area of the island is 90 sq. km, length – about 16 km, width – 8 km. The relief of the island is flat, its highest point is at an altitude of 45 m.

The history of the island of Kish is about 3000 years old. Since ancient times, the island is known for its pearls. The best time to go to Kish Island is from November to March, when the heat subsides and comfortable weather sets in. White sand beaches stretch along the entire coast of the island. Tourists should remember that many beaches are divided into men’s and women’s, however, on the beaches belonging to hotels, there will be no problems with men and women sunbathing together. In total, there are more than fifty hotels on the island, dozens of shopping centers and several sports complexes. For example, the Olympic Complex of Kish Island offers tourists tennis courts, football fields, swimming pools, volleyball and basketball courts. More than 50 km of cycle paths encircle the island. Cycling is one of the most popular sports on the island. You can also go on a trip around the island on horseback. No less popular are water sports – water skiing, windsurfing, diving, yachting and others.

On the island of Kish there are several dive centers with equipment rental and experienced instructors. Local dive sites are suitable for divers of various skill levels. The maximum diving depth of most sites does not exceed 10 m, and underwater visibility can reach 20 m. During the dives, you will see coral reefs with a wide variety of inhabitants. Groupers, angelfish, butterflyfish, snappers, triggerfish, moray eels, barracudas, turtles, stingrays and reef sharks are most often found in the local waters. The most popular dive sites in Kish Island located off the south coast. Go to a place called “Big Coral”. It is a coral reef composed mainly of hard corals. It runs parallel to the coast at depths of 6 to 2 m. It is home to colorful tropical fish, reef sharks, turtles, moray eels and rays. Not far from here is the Jurassic Park dive site, where you can see turtles, crabs, lobsters and rays. The dive site “Oyster Bank” is interesting, which is located on an underwater plateau at a depth of 5-10 m. The dive site “Southern Rift” offers the deepest dives (up to 25 m). In addition to beaches and the underwater world, Kish Island has several interesting places to offer its guests. In the northern part of the island are the ruins of the ancient city of Harire, dating back to the era of the Sassanid dynasty.

The construction of the underground city of Kariz is proceeding at a rapid pace. Kariz is being built on the site of an ancient aqueduct about 2500 years old, the area of ​​the galleries of which exceeds 10,000 square meters. Kariz is located at a depth of about 16 m and in the future it is planned to open shops, souvenir shops, museums and restaurants here. Also on Kish Island interesting are the remains of ancient rainwater catchments, a huge Greek ship off the west coast, an extensive Aquarium and Dolphin Park, consisting of a dolphinarium, a butterfly park, a patch of tropical rainforest, an exotic bird park, an orchid garden and a cactus park.
