Posted on November 4, 2022November 16, 2022 by payhelpcenter

The Costa Blanca is a region on the east coast of Spain. Contrary to what most people think, the name ‘White Coast’ has nothing to do with the color of the houses or white sand beaches. Reference is made to the color of the blossom of the almond trees that used to be widely present here. Today, the Costa Blancaan important holiday destination for sun seekers and winter visitors. The city of Benidorm can rightly be called a symbol of mass tourism. If you drive to Benidorm from the north, you suddenly see a jungle of concrete holiday towers. Behind it are two large sandy beaches, which are the main attractions of the tourist city of Benidorm. For those who prefer peace and quiet, there are beautiful seaside resorts such as Moraira, Altea and Dénia.

Top 10 places of interest of Costa Blanca

#1. Guadelest
According to Rctoysadvice, a beautiful village with an unprecedentedly beautiful view of the surroundings is Guadelest. The castle of Guadelest (El Castell de Guadelest) offers a nice insight into life in the past in this unique place. From the castle you get a beautiful view over the mountains, the reservoir and the village itself.

#2. Cuevas de Canalobre
Located in Busot, these limestone caves are a beautiful collection of irregularly shaped caves with stalactites and stalagmites.

#3. Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos
The feast of the Moors and Christians is celebrated exuberantly in almost every village and town on the Costa Blanca. This authentic Spanish party is accompanied by beautiful parades, lots of fireworks and a big party with delicious food (including paella) and drinks (wine). The largest and most famous Moros y Cristianos festival can be found in Alcoy (Alcoi).

#4. Altea
Of all the towns along the coast, Altea is certainly one of the most beautiful. This concerns the old town with the beautiful Virgin del Consuelo church, the square in front of the church (with a beautiful view over the city) and the white houses where a large number of art galleries can be found.

#5. Huerto del Cura
This botanical garden is one of the best of its kind and is located in the beautiful town of Elche (Elx). A famous tree in the palm park is the Imperial Palm.

#6. Penyal d’Ifac
Anyone who drives along the Costa Blanca and passes Calpe cannot ignore this gigantic promontory. Penyal d’Ifac (Peñón de Ifach) towers far above the Mediterranean Sea with a height of more than three hundred meters. Those who like a brisk walk can walk up in over an hour. The ecological conditions on the rock are different from the rest of the Costa Blanca.

#7. Castillo de Santa Bárbara
Most people who fly to the Costa Blanca see Alicante as nothing more than the airport. Too bad, because the city itself is certainly worth a visit. The central point in the city is formed by the Explanada de España, a beautiful pedestrian boulevard surrounded by greenery. In Alicante is the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, a castle located on top of Monte Benecantil. The castle can also be reached by elevator.

#8. Villajoyosa
If you see pictures of Villajoyosa (La Vila Joiosa) then there is a good chance that you will recognize the place immediately. This is due to the old neighborhood on the beach where the houses in various beautiful colors contrast with the sandy beach. A walk through the city is worth it. While you’re there, you should also immediately visit the chocolate museum of chocolate factory Valor or the ethnographic museum.

#9. Flea market of Jalón (Xaló)
Within the Costa Blanca you can choose from a large number of markets to visit. Most of these local markets have an offer that is unfortunately not very distinctive from the rest. The typical Spanish dresses, the cheap sunglasses and the bags that look very much like certain expensive brands… you see them everywhere. The flea market that is held every day in the village of Jalón is therefore a relief. Antiques, trinkets and art form the main part of the offer. Those who are on time can first taste some wine in the opposite wine cooperative.

#10. Benidorm
You love it or you hate it. There does not seem to be a middle ground for the high-rise holiday town of Benidorm. This is mass tourism in its most extreme form imaginable. This makes Benidorm an attraction in itself.
